Gettysburg National Military Park - Cemetery Hill and the Angle : The High Water Mark of Pickett's Charge is located on Cemetery Ridge (Hill). If you have never visited Gettysburg, this ground is the most well-known and most visited stretch within the GNMP Boundary. I encourage you to start your tour of this battle from Seminary Ridge, and walk the course of history with Pickett’s Division as they made their way across the open fields of deadly fire. The experience is life changing.

Welcome!

Greetings from the beautiful Cumberland Plateau of Eastern Tennessee! I hope you enjoy browsing the various photographic galleries I’ve created.

Most of the photographs are related to my passionate study of America’s Civil War heritage. Each photograph of a landscape or a building is a peaceful and beautiful ironic reminder of the carnage and sacrifice of the boys in blue and gray who fought to bring about a new birth of freedom and union for generations of Americans. According to the Civil War Preservation Trust, one acre of battlefield land is lost to development every ten minutes. We must do something NOW to protect those lands. If not, one day the hallowed and sacred grounds of this nation’s most defining struggle will be little more than images on a website or photo album. I encourage you to join the Civil War Preservation Trust and help in the fight to preserve America’s Hallowed Grounds. Membership fees are nominal, but every penny helps! You can visit their website at http://www.civilwar.org .

I am not a fan of Adobe Photoshop, but I do enjoy the mergering of the past with the present. My photoshop skills are mediocre at best, which I think is a great thing. It forces me to focus on getting it right through the lens, not through the computer screen!

Most of the galleries are still under construction in terms of captions, mapping, and organization, but the majority of the photographs are up and running for your to enjoy! Please drop me an email if I have indentified a monument or location incorrectly, and I will fix the mistake promptly.

Also, if you are a reenactor, and your unit has a monument pictured, please email me and I will be glad to donate the photograph to your group's homepage.

Please rate and comment on as many photos as you would like! Suggestions are always welcome!

Gettysburg National Military Park: Encroachment and Visitors : UNDER CONSTRUCTION!!! (Please check back soon for more photos and updates. To be completed October 2007.)I created this gallery with the intent of its title an oxymoron. Visitors come to the battlefields to honor those who sacrificed their lives on the altar of freedom. But what if those battlefields were parking lots, subdivisions and strip malls? These contrasting images are meant to make all those who view them stop and think – what is this was gone?

Lexington Virginia - Washington and Lee University and Stonewall Jackson Cemetery : Under Construction!!! Check back often, and enjoy the current content. Will be complete mid-October 2007. Stonewall Jackson left Lexington in 1861 - a professor many of his students at VMI referred to as "Tom Fool". First Manassas proved he wasn't fooling anyone. Robert E. Lee came to Lexington as the exhausted embodiment of the Lost Cause of the Confederacy. As President of Washington and Lee University, he saved the college from financial ruin. Both Lee and Jackson have a final resting place in this small and elegant town.
